Rasmus Munk

Biography

Born in 1991 in Kristrup, Denmark, Rasmus Munk initially considered becoming a mechanic before discovering his culinary calling. After training and staging at Noma and The Fat Duck, he opened the first Alchemist in Copenhagen in 2015. With backing from billionaire Lars Seier Christensen, the restaurant moved to a spectacular $15 million space in 2019 — a former Royal Danish Theatre workshop featuring a planetarium dome with 12 mapping projectors. Named Best Chef in the World 2024, Munk uses food as a medium for storytelling and social change.
